Sonia Gurfein
Born in Poland in 1927, Sonia Gurfein spent the years of World War II in concentration camps. She survived the camps and immigrated to Israel in 1946. Gurfein had been drawing and painting since early age without formal Art Education; she began to study seriously very late, only after her children had grown up, at the School of Plastic Arts in Bat Yam, at the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv and at the Midrasha - the Art Teachers' College in Ramat Hasharon. Gurfein's main fields of creation are Painting and Sculpture in different techniques. |
