Sisters
We all understand
That life is never smooth,
There's always a scraped elbow,
or scratch to be soothed.
Everyone out there
Looks to us for strength,
And when the going's rough,
Who goes that extra length?
Everyone else always
Needs a gentle ear,
They come to us knowing
We'll take the time to hear.
We bring home the bacon,
Fry it in a pan.
It's the way things have always been
Since time began.
When our burdens
Get to much for us to bear,
And we need someone
Who will stand beside us there.
It takes another woman
To help us through those days,
Only women can understand
Womanly ways.
So dear sisters,
As I sing my Monday song,
My life has gotten better
Since you came along,
I hope you all know
That I am here for you,
Cause I'm counting on you all
To help me get through.
