Conte Tasca d’Almerita NOZZE D’ORO 1994/95 (Golden Wedding)Nozze d’Oro was first produced 12 years ago for the Conte and Contesse Tasca d’Almerita’s 50th wedding anniversary on what is recognized as Sicily’s greatest estate founded at Regaleali in 1834. The unique micro climate of the 250 Ha of vineyards allows for a remarkable growing season and a later harvest of the grapes. Careful selection of the vines, organic growing techniques, and innovative wine making at the state-of-the-art winery results in this award winning wine of distinctive character.
Quickly separated from the skins, the soft pressed must of the Sauvignon Tasca and Inzolia grapes is cold fermented in stainless steel for two to three weeks. The colour of the resulting wine is straw yellow with fine greenish nuances. The bouquet is intense, full and precise with a soft taste of yeast over the pronounced aromas of almond blossom and broom. Dry and warm to the taste, it has a body of elegance and noble structure, excellent aromatic persistence and harmony. Best enjoyed at 10 to 12 degrees Celsius with grilled fish, cold white meats, and shellfish dishes.
